Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution

Set up in 1970, by Labour under Harold Wilson.

It’s very first report, in May 1970, flags the then-possible problem of carbon dioxide build-up.

Its 2000 report on Energy and Climate was crucial to getting the Blair government worrying sufficiently (sic) about carbon dioxide emissions.

And it was killed of by that buffoon David Cameron as part of the bonfire of the quangos in 2010. A cosmic act of vandalism.
