What, Why, Who, How, When

What

This website will be a repository (or as a former Australian Prime Minister would have it, a suppository) of information about climate change.

Why

The idea is to help people understand that this has been going on for a very long time. There was a long pre-1988 period where the problem of carbon dioxide build-up was flagged and largely met with dismissive derision. There has, since 1988, been denial, (predatory) delay, obfuscation.

Mere understanding is not enough – you can know the truth and it won’t set you free. So, a minor part of this is to popularise a few cynical ideas I’ve come up with – the emotacycle, the smugosphere, ego-foddering, HIDE etc – with luck will help people understand both the need to do things differently and some of the ways they could be done differently. Because doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result…

There are other motivations to creating the site – if you’re really interested, you can read about them here [LINK]

Who

The creator and author-of-most-posts on this site is me, Dr Marc Hudson. If you’re really interested, you can read a more detailed bio here.

How

The bread and butter of the site is going to be at least 365 (thank goodness it’s not a leap year) blog posts. Mostly this will be one per day, but there will be some days where two posts go up. There will also be weekly posts, on a Sunday that summarise what has been put up, what is coming, what I have been reading, and what is coming up – on the site and in the Real World – in the coming up

When

Daily posts will go up at 0730 GMT

The Sunday posts will go up in the afternoons, GMT
