Business Council of Australia

Set up by the big end of town in 1983, to combat the (perceived) power of the unions which had the ACTU. Geoff Allen heavily involved in this, via suggestion from, iirc Paarbo.

The main magnet trying to orientate a business response to environmentalism in the late 1990s – it’s a Big Deal in their BCA Bulletin for a while.

They and the Australian Mining Industry Council gave birth to the “Australian Industry Greenhouse Network” in the early 1990s.

BCA also key player in watering down Rudd’s CPRS, and cheered along the abolition of the “Carbon Tax.”

That tells you enough about who these guys are, what they want….
