There had been a “futurology” think tank in New Zealand of the same name, and “forecasting” had gotten sexy in the 60s and 1970s (Hudson Institute, Rand, etc).
This was set up thanks to the work of Barry Jones, Hawke’s Science Minister.
It worked with CSIRO to launch “The Greenhouse Project” (1987-1989).
Had a good magazine called “In Future.”
