Here’s a new, slightly light-hearted, neologism about a very NON-light-hearted topic.
Meltschmerz (Hudson: [ˈmɛltʃmɛɐ̯ts] ⓘ; literally “melting-pain”) is a Fafocenic concept describing the feeling experienced by individuals and groups who believe that reality, specifically physics, is about to punch them in the face very hard,[y][oh y] resulting in “a mood of weariness or bowel-loosening terror about life arising from the acute awareness of atmospheric carbon dioxide build-up and the present and future suffering”.
It is a riff on weltzschmerz, obvs.
