Everything – why?

I’ve been doing a climate-focussed “All Our Yesterdays” project for four looong years. Even I now have to admit that it has entered its stamp-collecting phase. And who needs a hobby, like tennis or philately?  So, I am branching out (while keeping on with the climate stuff).

This project is to jam down markers/stakes in the sand dunes of Things I am Interested In and want to sorta keep track off.

By doing this (and I aim to have a post for every day by the end of 2027) I will be keeping some sort of vague aide-memoire (or even Bush-ian memex).

To say this is about plugging “gaps” in my knowledge would be ass-backwards. The implication would be that I have relatively good coverage and there are gaps (large or small) to fill in some sort of mopping up operation. That would be pure hubris, given how much there is to know versus the capacity of any given human being.

I think of it more as knots in a hanky, or graffiti on a bit of cave wall, with arrows and warnings, in case, while looking for the exit (Ariadne’s thread having been snapped) I stumble with my fading headlight back across my previous steps.
